Guardianship Services, Inc.(GSI) is a nonprofit agency appointed legal guardian by the Tarrant County Probate Courts when there is no appropriate family member or friend willing or able to serve. The guardianship clients have diminished capacity, rendering them unable to make good personal decisions.
In addition, GSI offers less restrictive alternative services through our Money Management Program, allowing individuals the opportunity to remain independent and in their own homes. Clients participate voluntarily and retain more rights than under guardianship.
Volunteers are an important part of the GSI team. They provide extra time and attention and monitor the quality of care the client receives. The volunteers especially make a difference when the clients have been abused, neglected or exploited.
